Sofa in the style of Paolo Buffa, 60s bookcase and Scolari chandelier: this is the corner mix No. 7

This week we have created a living room with twentieth century furnishings that recall an elegance with a classic taste.

To characterize the environment there is a sofa of the 50s in the style of Paolo Buffa, a Milanese architect trained in the studio of Ponti and Lancia, known for his inspiration and great design momentum.
Considered one of the most authoritative designers of the 900, he dedicated himself both to the production of private interior furnishings for the upper middle class and to furnishing public spaces, such as the Hotel Quirinale in Rome.

The sofa has sinuous shapes while maintaining a certain classicism in the setting of the volumes. The resulting style is simple but at the same time refined, also thanks to the original fabric upholstery of the time.

To accompany the sofa, a bookcase from the center of the 60s characterized by simple lines but refined details. The shelves are made of glass and the support surface is in marble. To embellish the storage part of the furniture there is a particular geometric texture that decorates the doors, making them unique and lively.

As a light point we chose a multi-arm chandelier in glass and brass of Sciolari production and design.

Founder of the homonymous company, Gaetano Sciolari was one of the most requested designers between the 60s and 80s, so much so that some of his lamps were used to set up television and film sets.

Very often some design works are chosen by the entertainment world for their experimental and innovative characteristics; the most famous case is those of Oliver Mourgue’s Djinn armchairs used to furnish the spaceship of “2001 A Space Odyssey”.
