Modern art has a new home
Among wonderful modern antique furniture, home accessories, and vintage objects; an elegant and retro atmosphere enriched by the most popular songs of the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s: a true dive into the past!
On Saturday, April 6th, our store in Milan hosted the celebrations for the inauguration of the new home of Spazio 900.
The event was opened by Adriano Albini, the historic owner of Spazio 900, who spoke about the history of his business to an attentive and numerous audience. He expressed his happiness at passing the torch to Di Mano in Mano and approved the new exhibition space.
After a well-deserved toast, we went to explore the new arrivals at Viale Espinasse 99 accompanied by the music of the excellent DJ Lo Straniero.
Here’s a small selection of the most interesting and iconic design pieces for those who haven’t had the chance to visit us yet!
Specifically, the splendid and imposing Albini library, designed by rationalist designer Franco Albini in the 1960s. With modular ceiling design, adjustable shelves, and solid teak supports, the wooden veneer shelf and storage elements are a classic example of refined design.
A piece with an unmistakable character and style: the Diapason chaise longue. With a concrete base, bent steel sheet, foam cushion, and fabric upholstery. Designed as a collaboration between Michele de Lucchi and Titti Saracino.
The library designed by architect Claudio Salocchi for Sormani in the 1960s-1970s. Composable and rotatable, with lacquered wooden elements and a central metal support. Very distinctive.
And lastly, the D70 sofa by Osvaldo Borsani, manufactured by Tecno. Refined and elegant, this model was particularly popular during the 1950s and ’60s and continues to maintain its charm. With movable components, a metal frame, foam padding, and the original fabric upholstery from that era.
We thank everyone who chose to celebrate this important event with us and would like to renew the invitation to visit our headquarters at Viale Espinasse 99 to admire and discover these and many other pieces of furniture and objects that have shaped the history of design and modern antiques.
