Dedichiamo la penultima Icona del Design di questo matto matto 2020 a quello che forse è l’arredo più iconico del XX secolo: la Eames Lounge Chair.

This Lounge Chair first appeared in public on the NBC television show “Arlene Francis Home Show” in 1956.
From then on a crescendo of popularity and fame, between massive advertising campaigns and appearances in dozens and dozens of films.

Made of molded plywood and leather, it was designed by Charles and Ray Eames for furniture company Herman Miller.
Officially christened Eames Lounge Chair, it was the first armchair designed for a high-end market.

Born with the desire to create a chair with “the warm and receptive appearance of a well-used first base glove”, it has been in production since its introduction after World War II.

Pairing a soft and inviting leather with the elegant shape of molded wood, this set was the culmination of the Eames’ efforts.
Entirely hand-assembled with fully replaceable parts, the timeless Eames armchair is built to last a lifetime.

Considered a design classic worldwide, it is part of the permanent collection of many museums. From the MoMA in New York, to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, just to stay in the territory of stars and stripes.

Produced by ICF in the 60s and 70s it is without the Ottoman trust but in excellent condition.
