Description

The splendid edition of the poem of Apollinaire, published in 1911: Orpheus and the animals of his retinue, are represented in the 30 original etchings (8 double page), plus two engravings, n.t. and a double-page spread on the cover page, for a total of 33 tables. The following is the Colophon: Réalisées entièrement dans l'atelier Daragnes à Montmartre, la composition et l'impression typographique de cette édition du Bestiaire de G. Apollinaire ont été achevées 19 Février 1962. Put it in page et la présentation ont été établies par les Editions d art Les Heures Claires. Les burins originaux de Tavy Notton ont été tirés sur les presses à bras de Manuel Robbe in Paris. This edition is limited to 200 numbered copies: 136 with only the volume of illustrated text, 64 in which the text is accompanied by collections of separate plates and original drawings. Our copy is number 7 and is part of the selection of 7 samples (Numérotés de 1 à 7) with the following characteristics: 7 upon sur Japon nacré comprenant: a cuivre double – a dessin original double – une suite en bistre sur vélin d 'Arches – une suite en noir sur vélin d' Arches et une éprouve sur soie de chacune des neuf double pages. Unfortunately, the copy in our possession is not complete: there are in the box set only the volume in loose-leaf on paper Japon nacré, and the two suites of plates (9 double-page and 24 full-page) in the bistro and black on vélin d Arches; there is a lack of the other elements indicated in Justificatione du tirage.
