Description : Il ratto di Europa

Oil on canvas. The painting is a copy, with slight modifications, of the famous canvas by 'Il Veronese' made in 1580 and housed at the Doge's Palace in Venice. Among the modifications, the artist of this version decided to redirect Europa's gaze upward, so she turns her face to the observer. The painting is presented in a beautiful gilded coeval frame. End of the 19th century.
