Oil on canvas. The painting of large dimensions depicts the guardian Angel, a reassuring and peaceful subject who is encouraging a boy to face his life. She is keeping a hand on the boy's shoulder the other hand is pointing at the sky, the future destination reachable through a stairs covered with flowers, allegory of the sweetness of celestial life. The painting by Pietro da Cortona in 1656 for Pope Alexander VII was a model of reference. Presented in revival frame. Late 17th century.
