Description : Venere e Amore spiati da un Satiro
Oil painting on canvas. Large dimensions, copy of the original painting by Correggio (made in 1527-1528) held at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The scene depicts Venus and the young Cupid lying asleep on a light blue cloth. They are completely relaxed; Cupid's bow is abandoned aside and the Satyr is spying on them behind the leaves. The original painting by Correggio depicts Venus completely naked while in this copy her nudity was covered with a cloth. On the back of the structure there is the customs stamp. The painting was relined in 1800s and is enclosed in an important frame of the late 1800s.
