Oil on panel. Central Italy School. It is a foreground front portrait of the Saint that, according to the traditional iconographic canons, is dressed of leather and holds his cane surmounted by the cross with his hand. The only added element is a dead and dry tree log that reminds of the desert behind him. The sad and miserable expression of John and his emaciated figure highlight the penitential dimension of his life. Good condition, even with the marked crack, it doesn't have paint losses or damages.
