Oil on canvas. Signed and dated bottom right. There are stamps on the back from the Studio d'Arte Dino Tega from Riccione. The Croatian painter Ivan Rabuzin is an important representative of naive painting. Rabuzin was the son of a miner, and he experienced the darkness of the mines himself in his youth; his discovery of art during adulthood (he exhibited for the first time in 1956, and committed to painting exclusively only from 1962 on) translates, by contrast, in a jubilation of lights and colour, soft and round landscapes, delicate pastel contrasts, to describe a naive world. He established himself both on a national and international level, not only in painting but also in the field of graphic design and drawing; he also took on writing, producing two books. Rabuzin was also politically active in his country and a member of the Croatian Parliament from 1993 to 1999. The landscape here proposed is presented in a frame, with losses.
