Additional Information

Designer: Aldo Tura

Aldo Tura 1903 - 1963. Aldo Tura is an experimental furniture designer. He began its design and manufacture in 1930. His work is characterized by the combination of freedom, uninhibited forms, exceptional imagination and great irony. His creations are also an example of the highest craftsmanship, often produced in small numbers, sometimes limited to prototypes. In the 1950s Tura discovered the evocative charm of hand-painted living room furnishings with views of Venetian architecture and landscapes. He also achieved particular aesthetic results thanks to strange enlarged shapes like a bar cabinet seen as a huge cup. His exceptional skills came from exploring a wide range of materials such as egg shells, wood veneers and goatskin.
