Louis Vuitton Malle de Voyage Personnalisées - Paris, late 1940s
Features
Paris, late 1940s
Origin: Parigi, France
Description
Louis Vuitton trunk dating back to the late 1940s, restored and brought back to original condition. It is a travel trunk smaller than normal standards, designed to be placed in a very practical way in train carriages. The result of a special commission, carried out at the specific request of the first owner, this item could be defined as a sort of ancient and precious "hand luggage" from the mid-twentieth century, equipped with the necessary capacity to undertake short trips, not exceeding two or three days. Internally it has a single compartment, organized for the transport of underwear and clothes. Covered in Monogram canvas, a fabric characterized by rosette and monogram motifs (“LV”), invented in 1896 by Georges Vuitton, son of Louis. The hardware is in brass, the locks and nails are marked, the finishes in lozine. Interior equipped with canvas lining, wooden hangers and original label bearing the unique product number (809596). Louis Vuitton trunks, iconic furnishing and collectible objects, are still resistant and waterproof today, examples of great craftsmanship.
