Notes historical bibliographic

The pair of backsplashes, probably with the function of salt shakers, are part of the production of objects made for table decorations according to a typical taste of the time, probably forming part of a larger complex. They are part of a production of neoclassical taste that has reached maturity, identifiable at a stylistic level both by the lines of the faces and by the set of motifs that make up the decorative apparatus which in this case evidently refers to the element of water.
