Description

Temple clock in ebonized wood with engraved decorations. The base and the capital of the columns are in finely chiselled bronze. Enamelled metal display held by a bronze wreath and protected by a glass lid. In the center of the dial, the manufacturer's logo. Engraved bronze pendulum.

Product Condition:
Object in good condition, has small signs of wear and broken cover glass. Mechanism not tested. We try to present the real state of the item as fully as possible with photos. If some details are not clear from the photos, what is reported in the description will prevail.

Chiseled and gilded bronze clock. The complex decoration of this clock over the apparent eclecticism of the whole makes the structural typologies and figurative details typical of sixteenth-century architecture prevail, proposing the facade of a building with a central staircase and statues of vestal virgins on the sides. The enamelled metal exhibition has the manufacturer's brand in the center but not very legible. The clock is surmounted by putti holding a wreath. Movement marked Cailly Ainè 1839 on the back of the dial.

The clock with a large rectangular base features finely worked burin decorations with leaf volutes, garlands, lion protomes and a cup-shaped vase at the top. Enamelled metal display with hours in Roman numerals and minutes in Arabic numerals protected by a lid with curved glass; the hands are in gilded and perforated bronze. In the center of the dial and on the manufacture branded mechanism. The six-flame candelabra have the same decorations as the clock and are 67 centimeters high.
