Description
Anastatic copy of the BSB icon. 414 codex preserved in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Bavarian State Library, Munich): this is a late 15th-century codex produced in the workshop of Jean Poyer in Tours (circa 1445-1504) and owned by Maximilian I. The splendid miniatures for the first time in history connect episodes from the life of Christ with the prophecies of the pagan Sibyls. The edition consists of twenty-five copies with Roman numerals reserved for the Legal Deposit, the National Library of Spain, the Publisher and its collaborators and three hundred and seventy-five numbered copies in Arabic. Our copy is number 221. The volume is accompanied by a CD with the voice of the soprano Montserrat Figueras accompanied by the Capella Reial de Catalunya to revive El cant de la Sibilla in three versions (Latin, Provençal and Catalan).
