Description

Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plate 2004 complete with box, booklet and certificate; it is the seventh in the series and is entitled "The Queen of Skate" drawing by Ingrid Jensen. Plate number 4704 A. The box includes the second plate with the same illustration. Since 1998, Royal Copenhagen has started producing the Christmas plate dedicated to children with illustrations that represent the joy that Christmas inspires in children. White porcelain plate with decorations in various shades of blue. Each plate was produced in limited quantities only and exclusively in the year of the first printing, which takes place from March 1st, and production ended at the end of the year with the destruction of the original mold which made it impossible to reproduce. As a guarantee of authenticity, the plate bears the Royal Copenhagen mark with the three overlapping wavy lines, which represent the three Danish straits: Øresund, the Great Belt and the Little Belt, and the initials of the painter who created the unique illustration of the plate. The plate measures 17 cm. in diameter and on the back it has two holes made by Royal Copenhagen itself during production so that it can be hung.

The Royal Porcelain Factory (Danish: Den Kongelige Porcelænsfabrik, internationally known by the brand Royal Copenhagen) is a porcelain manufactory founded in Copenhagen in 1775. The manufactory was founded in 1775 by the pharmacist and arcanist Frantz Heinrich Müller who had obtained a fifty-year privilege for the manufacture of porcelain under the patronage of Queen Mother Juliana Maria of Brunswick-Lüneburg. Its products are distinguished by its trademark: the three wavy lines superimposed, representing the three straits of Denmark: Øresund, the Great Belt and the Little Belt.
