Description

Presentation by Enzo Carli, comment by Aldo Cairola. Imprint: Printed in the year MCMLXIX for Italy from Rome Eliograf issues-Editalia on special paper specially manufactured from paper mill Ventura in Cernobbio. The illustrations of "Months" were taken from the "Breviarium Fratrum Minorum" aluminized by Sano di Pietro for the convent of the Franciscan Sisters in Siena and kept from the public library of that city. Photographic reproductions are of Hugh Brandi Siena while Fatty photo color selections were performed by Reprod. Lith. of Rome. The text of the sonnets of Folgore da San Gimignano has been reproduced from the Vatican Codex Barberino (3953) specially retranscribed while the modern text of sonnets takes into account various other manuscripts-Parma (1081), Chigiano (l. VIII. 305), Riccardi (2795) and Magliabechiano (VII. 1066)-and the critical editions of Marti, Chan and Campbell; the notes are edited by Lionetto Saints, the graphics are Italo Curzio of graphic projects Editalia.
