Description : Vedute delle ville d'altri luoghi della Toscana
A set of 50 plus 1 engravings by Giuseppe Zocchi (1711-1797). It's a collection of glimpses of the main villas and other important places of Tuscany. Zocchi's drawings were firstly engraved in a series in 1744 and then in 1757. The first printing, bearing the year 1757, is considered the frontispiece of the whole collection with a dedication to the Marquis Andrea Gerini, Zocchi's patron and buyer of the work. Many engravers worked for Zocchi in this project, among them Morgen, Wagner, Piranesi, Monaco and others. The whole Zocchi's production had international success and represented a valuable research of Italy's architectural pictures, gardens and countrysides of the age of Enlightenment thanks to the accuracy and precision of his works. The printings have some stains due to humidity and they require an appropriate cleaning. They are presented in revival frames. 1757.
