Tempera on canvas. The landscape depicts a glimpse of popular houses in the country with a wide arch and some figures. The painting - according to the style and pictorial characteristics - may be attributed to Vincenzo Martinelli, one of the most famous painter of landscapes in Bologna during the 18th and 19th century. He produced a lot of canvas aimed at decorating the residences of the most illustrious families in Bologna and collectors in Lombardy, Rome, Venice, Paris, London and Petersburg. He realized suggestive rooms completely painted with plant ornaments. He was also a great set designer. The museums in Bologna store a wide repertoire of his paintings. From 1767 to 1803 he had a lot of important assignments at the Accademia Clementina - delle Belle Arti later - where he taught a lot of pupils. The painting is presented in revival frame. Restored part in the lower part. Second half of the 18th century.
