Description : Marina con molo e pescatori
Oil painting on canvas. Signed in the lower right corner. Handwritten authentication by professor Edoardo Clerici Sella with stamp on the back. The painting was made by the Scottish painter who used to depict the landscapes of Surrey with figures. His painting production was influenced by the English rural naturalism and French realism with impressionistic features in the last years. This painting depicts a high cliff with a tower on it and a small pier for the landing of fishing boats. In the foreground to the right the old fisher is resting and smoking a pipe sitting on a stone wall near the road. The painting is presented in beautiful coeval gilded frame of the late 19th century.
