Oil painting on paper. Approximately 1930. Signed in the lower right corner. Levi was a writer, painter and politician, a leading figure within the Italian cultural landscape of 1900s. Besides writing, he devoted himself to painting and joined to group 'I sei pittori di Torino' (The six painters of Turin). The landscape is a recurrent theme in Carlo Levi's production. From 1926 to 1974 he depicted the places where he lived: Turin, Alassio, Paris, Lucania and Rome. Natural and urban landscapes that represent a biographical and existential path. The painting comes with authentication of the 'Carlo Levi' Foundation and is signed by Stefano Levi Della Torre. In frame. 20th century.
