Volume in good condition. Elegant half leather binding with marbled corners and plates, gilt titles and frieze on the spine with five raised bands, in good condition: dust stains on the plates, slight peeling on the edges and corners, slightly more marked on the upper cap. Ex-libris paper insert applied to the front pastedown. Golden head cut, dust spots on the burnished cuts. Cards in excellent condition; last papers browned and brown stains near the plates. Nice illustrated stamp on the buttonhole with the writing: Les chefs-d'oeuvre du roman contemporain. Text in French. Texte en Français.

Elegant illustrated edition, as indicated in the fortespice from "Dix compositions par Le Blant. Gravées à l'eau-forte par H. Toussaint". Our specimen is further embellished by an illustrious provenance: as evidenced by the beautiful Ex Libris of Prince Constantin Radziwill and the noble coat of arms on the spine, it in fact comes from the library of the Chateau d'Ermenonville.
