Description : La Madonna dell'uva
Oil painting on canvas. It is a slightly reduced copy of the famous work of the same name made in 1650 by Pierre Mignard (1612 -1695) and located in the Louvre Museum in Paris. The bunch of grapes that Jesus holds by the stem, while Mary supports it from below, symbolizes the Passion (from grapes the wine, or the blood of Christ), but also is a sign of friendship between God and the people of Israel ; God is the winemaker of the parables, the people his fruit; God is the vine, his faithful are the branches. Compared to the original, this copy is slightly reduced, missing the lower part with the legs of the Madonna and the table with the fruit basket on the left. The work is presented with a strip frame.
