Watercolor on cardboard. At the bottom left is the artist's signature, with the date, the location Vittorio (Veneto) and the dedication to Antonio Milanopulo, a well-known artist from Udine. Zezzo established himself above all as a watercolorist. He created several portraits, male and female, bringing into his works a modernity and freshness of color and pictorial methods, born from the contamination between the Venetian pictorial ability with the oriental imagination and liveliness, transmitted by the Greek father.

Born in Venice to a Greek father and a Venetian mother on February 12, 1848, Alessandro Zezzos was a pupil with Luigi Nono, Giacomo Favretto and Alessandro Milesi at the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown.nZezzos exhibited the watercolor Le rondini for the first time in Turin in the 1980s, and subsequently he assiduously showed up at Italian and foreign exhibitions.nHe became known above all as a watercolorist, obtaining prizes in Italy, in the exhibitions of Venice, Milan, Rome, and abroad, in Munich, Petersburg, London, Paris.nZezzos, drawing on his origins, was able to blend the coloristic ability of the Venetians with oriental fantasy in his paintings.nZezzos died in Vittorio Veneto in 1914.
