Description : Interno del Duomo di Milano
Oil painting on canvas. Unsigned, but of great suggestive impact, the canvas offers a glimpse of the Cathedral of Milan, in particular the view on the right of the south apse of the transept, with a view of the Chapel of San Giovanni Bono, while on the left there is a glimpse of the two sixteenth-century pulpits, designed by Pellegrini, which lead to the presbytery. The painting is pervaded by a strong atmosphere of realistic spiritual intimacy, accentuated by the warm and golden colors of the lights filtering through the large windows; in the foreground on the left there are two figures of devotees. The work is presented in a frame. At the end of the nave is the apse from the second half of the seventeenth century, where the chapel of San Giovanni Bono opens. The current appearance of the chapel dates back to the first half of the eighteenth century when the elaborate decoration that characterizes it was created
