The artist originally from Basilicata but living in Milan, initially known for black and white photography, began a new path of research on color from the beginning of the 21st century. This includes the personal exhibition held in 2005 at the Galleria Fotografica in Milan, entitled Aspirazione, of which it has been said: "No narration, no recognizable reality, only evocations obtained through the evaporation of colors, in many scattered clouds: more painting than photography". The work presented here belongs to this trend.

Additional Information
Artist: Leonardo Genovese (XX)
Leonardo Genovese was born in Lucania. Since 1973 he began to catalogue the cinematographic and photographic images created in his land, of which he continues to report the primitive essence, glimpses of peasant nobility, the rustling of the woods, the quiet of the horizons. Unusual details, traces of presences and absences, sudden lights, places of the soul. In 1981 he moved to live and work in Milan, where he trained in the visual arts: photography and cinematography. After the first years of experience in cinema, his expressive research is today concentrated on a double artistic axis: the metaphysical-abstract investigation in photography and the hyperrealist-magical vein, in cinema. His main interest has always been the image. His works are present in numerous European and Italian private collections.Age: Contemporary
