Work consisting of 2 volumes in a briar slipcase. The conditions of the volumes are as good as new. The Commentary Volume (27X17.5 cm) has a linen binding with gilt titles on the front cover with editorial dust jacket. The facsimile Volume (37X24 cm) has a silent binding in blue flocked; paper tags and placement inscriptions on the front back cover; paper tag certifying the Publisher UTET and inscription confirming the numbering of the sheets on the back cover. The back cover of the slipcase is in leather and has some scratches; gilded clasp on the side; very elegant interior with two recesses where the volumes are placed and two extraction ribbons in yellow fabric; clasps in the commentary recess and engraved plate UTET 189/300. Texts in Italian and Latin.

Description

Splendid facsimile reproduction of the illuminated manuscript Regia Carmina by concession of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities/National Central Library of Florence. The manuscript contains a collection of verses, approximately 3700, dedicated to Robert of Anjou, and is attributed to Convenevole da Prato, famous above all for having been the grammar and rhetoric teacher of the young Petrarch. The manuscript is enriched by 59 large miniatures, full page and intertwined with the text, dating back to the 14th century. UTET Editore certifies that the facsimile reproduction of the illuminated manuscript Regia Carmina was produced in a limited edition, unique in the world, of 330 hand-numbered copies, of which 300 copies in Arabic numerals and XXX reserved for the Publisher. The present copy is attributed the number 189/300.
