FLAPS AND SECRETAIRE
 

18th Century / 1701 - 1800

Baroque drop-leaf secretaire of Tuscan production supported by curved legs; the inferior band is moulded both on the front and on the sides; it has two drawers surmounted by a folding door that hides a compartment with shelf and drawers. Veneered in olive tree with ebonized threads. The internal writing surface is finished with the same motives; inside in silver fir and poplar. The cabinet has sockets with enameled medallions representing landscapes; the vents are a later addition.

Italy, Late XIX Century

Secrétaire from the first half of the 19th century, in solid walnut, veneered in walnut pedulle on the front; composed of a drawer in the typical groove under the top and three others in the base, surmounted by the flap door that conceals a cabinet composed of six drawers and an open compartment with several secret compartments. Escutcheons made in inlay in maple wood.

Italy, Mid XVIII Century

Piedmontese walnut drop-leaf desk with floral inlays and maple scrolls and olive wood frames. Internal cabinet composed of a pair of lateral drawers and a central open compartment concealing various secrets. Drawer under the top, wavy legs, goat feet with reinforcements in the two on the left, poplar interiors. Chiseled and gilded bronze escutcheons. Italy, mid-18th century.

Italy, Mid XX Century

Trumeau model Cà Rezzonico made in the 20th century. On the front two small doors and a revolving bottle holder, surmounted by a flap with a cabinet; in the upper part two mirrored doors and two smaller ones on the sides. Top with engraved mirror.

Poplar drop-leaf chest lacquered and painted in Chinoiserie style. Curved front with four drawers, two of which in the band under the top, drop-leaf door concealing an internal cabinet with two drawers and open compartments. Bracket feet, missing parts. Italy, early 20th century.

France, Early XIX Century

Mahogany drop-leaf desk, front with two paneled doors with drawers and open compartments inside, central drawer with curved shape. Drop-leaf concealing open compartment, missing top fabric. Three-drawer top with secret opening (drop-leaf open). Oak interior. France, early 19th century.

Italy, XVIII Century

Drop-leaf cabinet in the Baroque style from the mid-18th century, Veneto. The fir interiors are covered in walnut slabs and walnut root in the reserves present on the drawers, door and top. Bracket feet support the front cabinet moved by a leaf spring with three drawers, surmounted by a door concealing a cabinet with four small drawers (two redone), a door and a secret compartment. Restoration on the door, handles replaced.

Trumeau in style, veneered in walnut and walnut burl, leaf-shaped front with three drawers, internal cabinet with two drawers, central door and open compartments. Upper part with mirrored doors. Italy, 20th century.

Parma, Late XVIII Century

Baroque walnut drop-leaf cabinet, wavy front with two tripartite drawers, wavy apron and feet, with leaf carvings. Drop-leaf cabinet with internal cabinet with four drawers and open compartment, upper shelf added to close the support surface of the riser that it originally carried. Interior and back in poplar, handles and escutcheons in bronze. Parma, third quarter of the 18th century.

France, Charles X period, secretary with four drawers, one of which is placed in the groove under the top and a flap door concealing a cabinet with drawers and open compartments, top in green Moroccan. The piece of furniture made of oak is veneered in mahogany feather. Black marble top

Baroque style flap

Baroque style flap cabinet, moved on the leaf spring front where three drawers are housed, drop-leaf door concealing a cabinet with small drawers and secrets. The entire surface made of fir is veneered in walnut and briar.

Walnut drop-leaf desk with various wood and carob fillets added later as embellishment, internal cabinet with four drawers and open compartments. Front with three drawers, bracket feet. Hinges, handles and escutcheons replaced. Italy, late 18th century.

Italy, XX Century

Trumeau in Lombard Baroque style supported by curled feet, on the font it has three drawers decorated with characteristic little frames, also featured in the rest of the piece of furniture; these are surmounted by an urn flap concealing a cabinet with small drawers; the hips are moved to open. The riser, ending with a shaped cymatium, has a door with mirror and conceals a castle with shelves.

Antique Flap in Directoire Style XX Century

Directoire style secrétaire, made of mahogany and mahogany feather, composed of two doors in the base, a drop-leaf door and a drawer under the tops; the drop-leaf door contains a castle with letter holders and small drawers, the leather top for writing. Green marble top, truncated conical feet grooved like the uprights that delimit the piece of furniture, decorations and frame coverings in brass sheet.

England, First Quarter XIX Century

English George IV flap with upper display cabinet, England first quarter of the 19th century. Showcase in early twentieth century style with two doors with blown glass; on the front of the flap there is a concealed cabinet door with drawers and morocco insert, pair of side pulls and five drawers. Both the door and the cabinet have inlay decorations in maple and green-stained maple. Further embellished with maple threads and mahogany borders. Oak interior. There are small deficiencies in the veneering.

Baroque Style Trumeau

Trumeau in Baroque style, early 1900s, curved in shape, has four drawers in the lower body and two mirrored doors in the upper body, small drawers inside the flap, covered on the entire surface in walnut and walnut root.

Italy, Late XIX-Early XX Century

Neo-Renaissance cabinet supported by bracket feet, on the front it has two paneled doors and a drawer, raised with flap door carved with central coat of arms, two drawers in the band; wavy uprights. In walnut.

Italy, Mid XVIII Century

Baroque drop-leaf chest supported by wavy feet, on the wavy front it has three drawers plus one smaller one, surmounted by a drop-leaf door concealing a cabinet with small drawers. Veneered in briar with maple fillets, the interiors are in poplar and fir. It has undergone subsequent restorations and modifications: originally it was a trumeau from which the riser was removed.
