Rococo Style Showcase

Late 19th century display cabinet in Rococo style. Four wavy legs, connected by a band under the top on which rests a roller display case with glass and an opening door; the cabinet is surmounted by a carved mirror. The entire surface is carved in Rococo style, gilded and then reworked with glitter. Inside the display case, damask fabric covering, yellow and gold.

Large free-standing mirror made in the last quarter of the 19th century still with a marked eclectic taste. The structure of the strongly architectural frame features a double arch on the top on which rests a large hexagonal reserve with a blue painted background with carved and gilded putti inserted. On the two culminating parts of the mirrors are inserted facing carved and always gilded dragons. On the sides of the mirror are applied carved dragons with Gothic turrets. Then two coats of arms are applied, one of which is recognizable as the Visconti coat of arms. Veneered in mahogany with painted and gilded parts. Repetitions in the gilding.

Teresa, come Teresa è. La vita, Il Castello interiore, Le Fondazioni, Il Cammino di perfezione, le Poesie, sino alle opere minori - che minori non sono - rappresentano un corpo solo, capace di parlare con efficacia alla donna e all'uomo del terzo millennio. Il linguaggio di Teresa - qui esigente, là consequenziale, fintamente distratto e falsamente inconsapevole - parla come parla l'uomo d'oggi: per rimandi, schizzi, analisi ed effetti, che rendono difficile se non impossibile una traduzione "perfetta". Di qui, dunque, una nuova e invincibile scommessa: una traduzione delle opere della santa di Avila corredata del testo originale a fronte. Nuova, perché è la prima volta che così questi scritti sono presentati; invincibile perché la passione di "dire" porta spesso Teresa a esprimersi con un linguaggio tattico e paratattico, in cui denotazione e connotazione giocano in una sorta di ping-pong di sensazioni e possibili versioni, in cui si succedono riflessioni e ricordi come flash back cinematografici, apparentemente slegati, in realtà uniti da un filo che conduce parole e frasi dalla dimensione del saggio a quella della poesia, e da questa - per via d'ironia - alle vette della spiritualità. Qui a parlare è l'amore di Dio, per primo ricevuto dall'anima e da questa accettato, a superare il desiderio per poi tutta ritrovarsi nell'Altro dato. E questo, in Teresa, non si ferma alla teoria: l'ascolto si tramuta in fatti.

Mixed media on paper. Title on the bottom left. Artist's stamp on the back with title, date and signature. Caccioni, an artist who was born, trained and still lives in Bologna, is one of the protagonists of a generation that has now reached a definitive linguistic maturity and occupies a prominent place within the contemporary artistic panorama. His research mainly uses unusual materials such as acetates, PVC and, more recently, stage backdrops from 19th-century theatrical works, on which he intervenes by painting shapes drawn from a personal memory and from suggestions coming from different cultures and historical periods. A recurring element in Luca Caccioni's work is writing, a self-signifying sign that designs the work and is capable of recounting thoughts; working by superimposition, the images are constructed by adding or subtracting color on the various supports. Wool and Leather

Gloves in very soft two-tone leather, the back in camel tones and the palm in dark brown tones. Details and stitching in brown yarn. Slit on the back and elastic at the wrist. Pure wool interior. The item has never been worn, in fact it has the tag. Made in Italy.

Dark grey patent leather shoulder bag with an original braided handle. The interior is lined and has a zip pocket and two smaller pockets. Considering the condition, it may have never been worn.

UK Size 12

Elegant short jacket in black suede with patchwork workmanship dating back to the 60s and 70s. The jewel buttons are decorative (one is lost), it has a fur collar and cuffs and a lined interior. In some places the leather is slightly creased. Special and rare item of tailoring production. Measurements: length 49 cm, shoulders 41 cm, waist 96 cm.
