Prestigious half leather binding with marbled corners and plates, titles and rich gilt friezes on the spine with 5 raised bands, in good condition: slight peeling on the headphones and on the edges of the plates. Gilded head cut, traces of dust on the cuts. Ex-libris on the front pastedown and exlibris stamp on the title page. Well preserved papers; the tissue papers protecting the plates ft have brown spots that have also spread to the corresponding paper; the tissue of the table is missing. on page 204. Texte en Français

Splendid edition of the novel by Dumas Son preceded by a preface by Jules Janin and an unpublished preface by the author addressed to Calmann. The text is richly illustrated by Albert Lynch, painter of Belle Epoque spirit, specialized in female portraits. As indicated in the final Table, Chaque chapitre est précédé d'un en-tête dessiné par Lynch, gravé en héliogravure directe par Dumont, et imprimé en taille-douce avec des tons variés. Also present is a beautiful color etching title page and 10 etching plates drawn by Lynch and engraved by Champollion and Massé. Nice period exlibris on the front cover in the name of Albin Guillot
