Description

Edition published as a Strenna for the friends of the bibliophile Paolo Franci in Christmas 1976-New Year 1977. Vanni Scheiwiller illustrates the composition of the booklet in a sort of afterword: “The three poems by FT Marinetti never collected in a volume, are intended to be a small homage to the inventor and founder of futurism at the conclusion of the centenary of his birth. The first "Bombs, children, children, saints and madonnas" which gives the title to the plaquette, was already published on the third page of the Milan newspaper by Giorgio Zampa, on 6 June 1976 and dates back to 1915, that is, at the time of the first aerial bombing Austrian on Milan. The other two “The scent of genius Rome-Paris” and “Poem Rome-Warsaw” are completely unpublished and date back to the memory of his daughter Vittoria, in the 1930s: at the time of his travels in Europe. The handwriting is not always legible; the typographical composition, however, is a tribute to the futurist typographical taste of the printer Giorgio Lucini who also invented the cover. The publisher thanks the Marinetti family for the gift of the three poems that appear in the annual gift for Paolo Franci's friends". To the Colophon: Small volume printed in three hundred out-of-commerce copies numbered from 1 to 300. Copy no. 158. To further embellish our plaquette, the publisher's autograph dedication on the flyleaf: “To the bibliophile Cesare Pio. Merry Christmas '76 Vanni Scheiwiller. Milan, 24.XII.76” with the usual little fish accompanying the signature
