Description
Giovanni Battista Quadrone (Mondovì, 1844 – Turin, 1898) is considered one of the greatest representatives of 19th-century Italian genre painting: during his career he moved from historical subjects to genre paintings, with a clear predilection for hunting scenes and portraits of dogs. All his works are characterized by a search for realism and accuracy in the representation of the scenes, earning him the nickname of Piedmontese Flemish. In our editorial portfolio, the most famous works of the painter are present in 53 plates reproduced by C. Turletti, M. Calderini and G. Ricci, together with a portrait and a booklet entitled The career of G. Battista Quadrone (1844-1898) by Marco Calderini
