Description
Rare first edition of this collection of fragments in verse and prose. Francesco Meriano (1896-1934), a very precocious poet (the first collection published to critical acclaim dates back to 1914), joined the Futurist movement in 1916: the publication of the collection Equatore notturno. Parole in libertà by Edizioni futuriste di Poesia dates back to that year. His correspondence with Tristan Tzara, founder of the Dadaist movement, dates back to the same years. At the outbreak of the war, Meriano took an interventionist position but, due to serious health problems, was discharged. Our volume represents his last literary publication. Founder of the first combat group in Romagna in 1919, Meriano joined the fascist movement and began a career in journalism and politics: as a member of parliament and diplomat, he died in Kabul as a plenipotentiary minister in those territories.
