Volume in slipcase. Precious full red leather binding with titles and very rich gold friezes on the spine with 5 raised bands, elegant framing with fillets and gold floral decorations on the plates, backplates framed by leather margins with elaborate gilded friezes, in excellent condition: slight peeling on the caps . Case covered with marbled paper in good condition: peeling on the edges and on the upper and lower cuts. Gilded cuts with traces of dust. Papers well preserved, slightly browned, with rare foxing. Elegant edition of the six famous funeral orations delivered by the specialist of the Bossuet genre for the Royal Highnesses of his time; three more sermons follow, including the one for the Profession of Madame De La Vallière. Each work is preceded by a historical Notice which introduces the dedicatee of the oration and by a finely etched cartoon by Joseph-François Foulquier (1744-1789). Portrait of the author on the frontispiece. At the Colophon: Tiré a 274 exemplaires: 250 sur papier vergé; 10 on chamois paper; 13 on paper de Chine; 1 sur peau de vélin. Example no. 9.
