Description

A file tied with a string, a sort of dossier containing, in sheets of different colors and sizes, typescripts, handwritten notes, telegrams, photographs, but also pieces of cloth, envelopes that hold a lock of hair or a match: this singular “mystery”, published by Mondadori as a Supplement to issue 95 of June 23, 1937 of its Gialli Economici series, presents itself to the reader as the dossier of the detective charged with solving an intricate crime set in Miami. The aim, indicated on the back cover by the authors' note, is to have fun discovering who I would have arrested, following the investigation step by step until its solution. The intriguing blue and red cover with the indication “Dennis Wheatley presents a detective novel conceived by JG Links” is intriguing. The translation is by Alberto Tedeschi for an experimental publication never re-proposed by Mondadori
