Crayons and white lead on cardboard. On the back there is a label from the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Verona, which auctioned off numerous works by the artist that it owned, and reporting the data of the work. The work is also accompanied by the purchase invoice from that auction in 1951, with the title of the work. Of humble origins, the Veronese artist Angelo Dall'Oca Bianca, even once he had become an established and appreciated artist, frequenting the Italian and international artistic-cultural environment, always maintained the bond with his city, a constant source of inspiration for his artistic production, and the bond with its poor; in 1939 he built the Villaggio Dall'Oca in Verona, for the benefit of the poor of the city, and in 1941 he made a will, leaving all his money and his paintings to the city of Verona for welfare works. His painting was always of a purely veristic nature, influenced above all by contact with Giacomo Favretto. Work presented in a frame.

Oil on canvas. The scene shows the results of a battle, with survivors providing first aid to the wounded, carrying the bodies of their fallen comrades, and a friar blessing the dying. Officers on horseback count the victims and honor them. The scene is set in an open territory on the banks of a river, with rugged mountain slopes in the background. The rosy atmosphere of a sunset underlines the end of the day, of the battle, of the life lost in battle. The work is presented in a contemporary frame.

Oil on canvas. Second half of the 18th century. A portion of a large ruined architectural structure fills the entire scene: a porch surmounted by a balustrade, overgrown with plants, surrounds a courtyard where various popular figures move, busy with their activities. A bright blue sky surmounts the structure and the light filters through one of the arches to create a play of light and shadows under the portico. On the back of the frame there is an attribution to Gaetano Vetturali (1701-1783), even if the quality of the figures here appears superior to those of the artist from Lucca, who established himself in his territory for his architectural caprices of great scenographic impact. The painting is presented in a gilded frame in style.

Lively composition with three masks, two that refer to the commedia dell'arte while the third seems more like a carnival mask (Mastro Geppetto?), next to an hourglass, a candle and a book. Olmedo Mezzoli's production aims to re-propose the figures of the classical world in a modern key. Framed work.

Made on French models, the scene set in the hall of an important palace, with tall marble columns and rich draperies, features a young noblewoman sitting in the center, who watches with amused tenderness the games of her two little children; even the clothes of the three figures flaunt the wealth of the family. The painting is relined and restored (obvious patches on the back), and has been placed in a frame constructed with ancient elements.

Landscape with Figures and Sheep

Oil on canvas. Signed on the back. Paolo Sala, born and trained in Milan, stood out as one of the most important landscape painters of his period, as well as a view painter of the many Italian and foreign cities in which he worked. He preferred watercolours, but also painted a lot in oil. He uses quick and broad brushstrokes, overlapping, in an impressionist style, playing with colours and lights to create suggestive atmospheres, as in this countryside landscape, where two female figures entertain themselves sitting at the edge of the path, on the bank of the river, and a flock of sheep grazes on the opposite side. In a contemporary gilded frame, with the painter's name indicated in the centre of the lower edge.
